inabunkACTIVE TIMES/PACE: KINDA SLOW/EST/MARGINALLY FASTER THUR-SAT.
BRACKETS/PROSE: Default to bracket, unless it's a PSL. Flexible here!
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: I tend to steer away from non-con scenarios.
IN CHARACTER
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: I love the 'touched-starved John Sims' trope as much as the next gremlin, but there needs to be established CR with anyone trying to get in his personal space without him hyperventilating or thinking it's an attempted attack. Life has not been kind, but affection would really do him some good. Plot with me!
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: John is easily intimidated and shies away from violence. He will not be the one injuring himself trying to break your character's face. He is, however, terribly reckless and has shown himself to make an excellent punching bag and a target for kidnapping. If a thread is heading down that route, I'd prefer it to be discussed in advance but I'm not against it.
RELATIONSHIPS: He is not naturally stellar at nurturing platonic or romantic relationships; John requires a very patient type of person to deal with his emotional barriers, but it's not impossible. Indulge in the slow burn! John is asexual but not aromantic, showing interest in both men and women. I tend to favor sex-neutral portrayals with a heavy emphasis that he will rarely be the one to initiate any sexual intimacy. Open communication and established boundaries are a beautiful thing.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Chronically Over This Shit. Through his years at the Magnus Institute John has gained quite a few scars due to Plot and is missing two ribs for the same reason. He went from a tired, prematurely graying archivist to a tired, prematurely graying Archivist with an inability to be injured superficially. He heals very quickly but he's dependent on statements to stay well.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: John is quite scared of spiders, although horrific things are commonplace. He is far more likely to shy away from openly discussing his emotional wants than some Eldritch nightmare. As he's losing his humanity, John is more reliant on being sustained by the retelling of other people's fears. If you would like to opt out (or in!) for statements or anything please let me know.

BACKTAGGING: I have no hardcap on not tagging back a thread but I support handwaving!
THREADHOPPING: In network/text posts, sure.
FOURTHWALLING: No thank you.

The Magnus Archives is a horror anthology podcast that takes place in London at the infamous Magnus Institute; an establishment known to cater to the paranormal. When I say paranormal, I don't mean ghosts. There are eldritch entities that feed on the fears of this world, damn it. And vampires!
Any horror based medium wouldn't be complete with a list of unsettling topics that may be too uncomfortable to interact with and MAG has 200 episodes involving a wide array of content warnings. There is violence, body horror,
grooming, deep dives into thoughts of depression, and many other things that one would encounter with Eldritch horror.
As John comes into his abilities one of the first potentially problematic powers is compelling others to answer any question he has. As the Archivist, he can easily influence anyone to give detailed, thorough statements on horrific nightmare fodder they've had to endure. It unfortunately sustains him the more he does it. Statement givers will see him afterwards in their nightmares, just watching; it is a byproduct of what he is and not a malicious act against those it happens to.
If there's anything you do not wish to thread out with me (or you do), I'm including a form so everyone can have a good time. That's what we're here for.
